Ben Franklin was a man who was coarageous enough to stand up to the English. Think about it. The signers of the declaration of Independence were quite wealthy, and the had mcuh to lose, and not much to gain, when signing. Also Ben Franklin, was a visionary, and someone who strode towards new ideas.

Ben Franklyn was the Ambassador to France and after that the Ambassador to England, he was accused of sitting on his duff instead of dealing with the issues of the colonies that were coming about. He was a ladies man and took great patience at dinners and the operas, he loved the live he was leading and was somewhat slow at getting things done. The leaders of the colonies got tired of waiting for diplomacy and I guess the rest is history.

Ben wa also a Inventor of reading glasses and of flying kites in electric storms.

Common sense. He thought things through, didn't just run
out and do things without thinking about it.
