Television is not science. It is entertainment. Don't confuse the two. Television shows programs for two reasons only. The more people that watch it, the more they can charge advertisers. They got you to watch it didn't they? That's all that matters. Do you think the History channel CEO cares one bit about if what they air is scientific truth? Or does he care about viewership numbers and revenue? Yes, it's hoaxes. But it's easy cash. Very easy cash. You see it on the History and Discovery channels (owned by the same company) and you see it on the internet. Hoaxers want some quick cash and they don't give a damn how they get it or what they have to do to get it or how much they have to lie to get it. Yep, our society sucks but nothing can be done to arrest these scammers. Just use common sense and skepticism and avoid this crap whenever you can.
