Because we believe that what we receive for that money is worth more than the money we give out. If for instance they were to ask you for $4000 a barrel then it wouldn't be worth it, and so we wouldn't pay as much. As long as we believe that what we pay for is worth less than what we are receiving we will keep paying.

.politics cost a lot of money, anymore that is. So they buy the politicians out through donations. which the politicians do care about the people anymore, as long as their pockets are padded

We pay so much because oil starts to get in more demand and it coast money to get the oil.
