Some people (i.e. Pats homers) maintain that Brady is a better quarterback. After all, look at his stats this year! Stats you say? Let's check out their career stats, shall we?

Name CMP ATT YDS CMP% YPA TD INT RAT
Manning 3197 4991 38459 64.1 7.71 280 140 94.6
Brady 1966 3152 22451 62.4 7.1 157 79 89.9

And before any of you homers point out that Brady has won 3 Super Bowls, sorry guys, that's a team stat.

The proof of the pudding is who has been better individual statistics over the course of their careers. It's not even that close, really.

Deal with it, Patsies!

LOL. Look who the Pats have played this year? No wonder they've won every game by 38 points. It's because of the crappy defenses they've played against. (San Diego is clearly waaaaaay down this year.) That goes for Cinci this weekend too. Wait 'til they play a real team (like the Colts). The Pats will get thumped for the FOURTH time in a row against them.

Sorry, Charlie. The Colts won two close road games in their division, which is clearly the toughest in the NFL this year.

Terry, nice try, but you're flat wrong.

Per Fox Sports:

The Colts own the NFL's best regular-season record since the start of the 1999 season at 92-39.

"You can compare career stats, but the only ones that matter are the ones from this season."

Anyone who says three games tell the whole story clearly has NO IDEA what he's talking about.

Even Dr. Z of Sports Illustrated agrees that Super Bowl victories are team stats.

Again using your quote: "You can compare career stats, but the only ones that matter are the ones from this season."

If that's true, then the only Colts/Pats playoff matchup that matters is the most recent one-- what happened in that game?

pwned.

"Did they play each other this season yet? ummmmm.......no. Get your facts straight, because your sounding pretty desparate.

Rebuttal?"

Yes, learn how to spell you're and desperate.

Pwned again.

Thanks for making my day, Patsies!

Peace, I'm out.

I lived next door to Peyton when he was at Tennessee and the man is a student of the game. He has studied this game from angles that I didn't even know existed. The books in his living room were titles like Theories of the Quarterback Pass, Physics of The Pass, and Mindsets of Famous Quarterbacks. I was a little stunned that the books existed and impressed he delved into all the aspects he could to make himself a better quarterback. Also, it sure doesn't hurt you have Archie as a dad and you have had a football in your hand since before you could walk.

You can compare career stats, but the only ones that matter are the ones from this season. Manning has had a fantastic WR-TE corp for his whole career, Brady has had to throw to no-names this whole time until this year. Now that they finally have comparable WR's, Brady has been putting up bigger numbers than Manning. And lets not forget, it was Manning by himself who threw those 3 INT's in the 2003 AFC championship that screwed up the Colts chances for the Super Bowl that year. And TB has a much better postseason record than PM. Rebuttal?

EDIT: The guy below me brings up some pretty good points. I wanna see you argue with that.

EDIT: "Anyone who says three games tell the whole story clearly has NO IDEA what he's talking about."

Here are three games:
-2003 AFC championship- PM threw 3 INT's to end the colts season

-2004 AFC divisional playoff- PM ends his legendary 49 TD season by leading his offense to three points the entire game

-2005 AFC Divisional Playoff- WIth less then a minute left, with the colts 3 points down at their own 42 yd line, PM failed to take his team to the endzone to seal the game. They lost against the #6 ranked steelers 21-18

Those three games tell a HELL of a lot

Rebuttal?

EDIT:"Again using your quote: "You can compare career stats, but the only ones that matter are the ones from this season."

What does this have to do with the fact that TB kicks PM *** anyday? Face it, your arguments are ignorant, worthless, and based on speculation instead of fact. And Dolts fans, instead of voting me down, why dont you make a point and continue this argument that this pansy couldnt finish?

if you consider bradys rings a team stat then you can say paytons stats are team stats too because his oline has to protect him long enough for him to throw. his WRs need to run good routes and still need to make the catch. also any yards after catch the receiver does is credited to mannings yards and its not like manning is running those yards either so he is getting yards for yards he didnt throw, but rather that the receiver ran. so if you take that into consideration, mannings #s would be great if everytime his receiver caught the ball, he got tackled to the floor. and look what brady won the superbow with, he never had the best defense, he never had any receivers. manning won with wayne and harrison. brady won with branch and brown. brady is more clutch than manning and by the way, who won more head to head matchups and who has the better record when it matters in the playoffs? brady is the better QB.
and no i aint a patriots fan.

Manning is not...

Hmmm...Best winning percentage among current QBs is noticeably absent...

The most important number doesn't lie...Don't be a fool...Its Tom Brady...Deal with it yourself, idiot...

And if Brady's rings are a result of the team, then Peyton's yards are just as much because of Pro Bowl receivers that MAKE Peyton look good, as well as the offensive line...

And Peyton's yards haven't translated into Super Bowls except 1 last year...I'd take Brady's Super Bowls over Peyton's stats any day...Deal with it, Coltsies...

You cannot really compare Brady to Manning. Well I mean you can, but each one shines in different parts of the position.

Manning surveys the field and sees plays develop better than anyone who has ever played the game. He almost appears to have a 'sixth sense'.

Brady just has that '4th quarter' talent. Don't get me wrong he is a great QB no matter what....but when it comes down to the clutch and the 4th quarter, no one is better than brady. He wins and thats all.

Thats why you cannot really compare them. Yes manning is more accurate is better on paper...but brady wins alot (more SBs than manning).

cowboys fan here, but if i got one game to win, i want romo, ooops, i mean brady. i think on sheer skills, manning is better. but brady has some vince young in him. he just wins. did you have any doubt brady would bring the pats back against the chargers last year? nope, of course not. and even though i was pulling for manning and the colts in the afc big game, i fully expected brady to somehow win that game. theyre both great, pick your poison....

Manning has been throwing to future hall of famer marvin Harrison and pro bowler Reggie Wayne his whole career. Brady's been throwing to reicers who run 4.50s and don't make it to the probowl, and his QB rating is still in the 90s.

Now that his recievers are finally the quality of Mannings he is out producing him by a lot.

Brady also has the highest winning % of active QBs and the most 4th quarter comebacks among active QBs.

The Chargers have probably the best DT and OLB in football. The Patriots took them out of the game.

And who have the Colts played? oh ya the 0-3 Saints, the Titans who they almost lost to...and the Texans who they also almost lost to without their #1 receiver Andre Johnson.

peyton is only the best qb because he has a good offencive line and because marvin harrison is on his team along with 3 other great recievers. his recievers are not afraid to go all out and ndo whatever it takes to catch a ball. but this year brady will be the best because of moss and his improved offensive line and othe recievers

Favre is the only one better than Manning. Just keep in mind that numbers don't tell the complete story.
