okay i have to do this science project and we have to use the scientific method to prove or disprove a old wives' tale or a myth or something but i can't think of one.Please help the project is due in like 2days.HELPPP!

it was taken very seriously by the adults and we were constantly reminded that if you stepped over anyone you had to step back otherwise they would not grow-----as the adults told us and watched us we did as we were told however we are all short----less than 5'2. Did we occasionally forget?

Most "old wives' tales" are actually based upon factual events or remedies. It's just that over time, the meanings become garbled (anachronistic references, etc.). Maybe you want an "urban legend" to debunk? Or are you thinking of something like "walk under a ladder = bad luck"? Find a penny, pick it up and all day long you'll have good luck? Or, if you pull a white hair, 7 will grow back in it's place? I can't think of any that you can easily test with the scientific method. I'll keep trying to think one up for you. Good luck!

Finger nail dipped in Vinegar will strengthen and whiten them.
Vinegar will make you hair shine.
You can clean your mirror and window pains with vinegar.
It may be an old remedy that some may call old wives tale but actually they are scientifically fact.

supposedly if you have a wart and you bury raw meat underground then about a week or two the meat would have rotted away and your wart would have gone.
