hi people im really stuck xbox360 or ps3?

sorry long question :-(
im having a baby in jan and want to get my partner 1 of the too but im real stuck on which 1 i will be getting out of cataloge so please tell me which is best also we have a hd tv :-)
right
ps3 with resitance £549
rainbow six vegas £55 and spilter cell d agent £55
hdmi lead £22
xbox with bioshock and the darkness and gears of war £529
halo 3 £55
wireless controller £39
steering wheel with pg and test drive £149
and hd dvd £149
and harry potter £55
we have the wii hardly use it psp and ps2
but i want to get him the best 1 please help i notice ps3 hasnt much to go with it

PS3 is by far the best
