the greatest pennant race in National League history?

Good heavens no. A pennant race should have two to four excellent teams duking it out down to the wire, crashing head-to-head on the final weekend...

...not have a gaggle of mediocre (oh, sorry, "competitively balanced") washouts slogging through, waiting to find out which team(s) lose the least.

Look, it's a fun, entertaining, jolly mess, and MLB is tickled because it keeps interest high -- but this isn't a great race. Just an enduring and rather sloppy one.

Oh no doubt! NO team has clinched yet and there are only 2 games left to play.

It's great but not the greatest............Have to go way back to the Brooklyn Dodgers/New York Giants to beat it..........This is pretty close though..........CAT
