I think he died a long time ago.

He was the right man for the right time and he rose to the occassion. America wouldn't be here if it wasn't for George and many men like him

g-day!

You had better ask the son of Dr Benjamin Franklin FRS, who returned to the UK immediately after Cornwallis surrendered to one Geo. Washington Esq at York Town.

To be blunt about it, Geo. Washington was a pain in the butt. He did not believe in democracy and certainly had no plans to bring in democratic government to the American colonies.

His plan, along with other leading American families was to create a form of government based upon the idea that the leading families would share power through an elective system which did not include the common people. In other words, the new USA would have become an Oligarchy and not a Democracy of the people, for the people and by the people.

The present day president of the USA, Geo. W. Bush Esq has the same power as did King Geo. III - time for a Revolution?

Edit: Steven C above is quite right. I'll put it this way. For all of his supposed madness, our late Sovereign HM King George III believe that slavery was an abomonation which sould be abolished. George Washington Esq had 12 black slaves in his house. The King had none.

God Save the King!

Probably one of the most courageous men in History.
Couple that with honesty and his refusal to accept a position of ROYALTY and refusing to make himself a king (There by amazing the WORLD). Add to that his promoting a Constitution that guaranteed a government with limited power and also placing the power of government into the hands of the people, and you have a man who's record places him just short of Jesus Christ in the the annals of human history.

Good man.
What I don`t understand is why the Americans say they love their Presidents (not all of them ha, ha) then they go and assassinate them.
The next day everyone is crying and saying that he was a great President.
Fecking weird.

Don't know anything about him other than that he was America's first president and is considered a hero in that country.

A true statesman. I don't know how he'd do today though. Our current system can ruin the best.

I know that he was a racist Jerk!

He owned slaves

He traded one slave for molasses.

He raped many of the slaves that he owned.

His mother was a supporter of the British.

He was an awful man, and I am sure he is burning in hell now!
