After you acknowledge the fear find out all you can about the subject of your fear and once you know all about it you are ready to handle it and there is no more reason to be afraid.

Acknowledge them. It puts them in front of you and makes sure you know already. Heights for instance. If you say, I am afraid of heights it is something already known. Now go fix it! Used to be afraid of the number 13. When I was in the military, I re-enlisted on my 13yr, 13th day at 113 pm (1313 for you 24 hour clockers), 13 flags and people in the room and 13 bucks in my pocket. We made the ceremony last 13 minutes. I don't even care about it anymore. So, it worked for me...maybe it will for you?

I acknowledge my fears. By pretending they're not there, doesn't help, in fact they may get worse.

I would say it's better to acknowledge your fears because one must know ones limitations. It's just safer that way.

Not only to acknowledge fears but to conquer them. Have you conquered a fear today? Do it tomorrow. It feels good.
