Peremeter (P) = 2W + 2L

so
2L=P - 2W
L = (P - 2W)/2

L= ((9 7/15) -2*(4 1/3))/2
L= ((9 7/15) -(8 2/3))/2
L= ((9 14/30) -(8 20/30))/2
L = (24/30)/2
L = 24/60
L = 2/5 m

Well you have to know the formula for finding the perimeter of a rectangle.

perimeter = 2 * length + 2 * width.
you substitute in what you know (perimeter and width)

9 7/15 m = 2 *length + 2 * 4 1/3
9 7/15 m = 2 * length + 8 2/3
9 7/15 - 8 2/3 = 2 * length
4/5 = 2 * length
2/5 = length

length is 2/5 meter.

If the width is 4 1/3 m, then two sides of the rectangle are 4 1/3 m long = 8 2/3 m.
The perimeter is 9 7/15 m.
Therefore the lenght of the two remaining sides is
9 7/15 - 8 2/3
Convert to 1/15 ths
9 7/15 - 8 10/15 = 12/15

Therefore the length of one of the two remaining sides is
(12/15)/2 = 6/15 m = 2/5 m

I'm assuming you know algebra and basic formulas. This is obviously a perimeter problem, so we will use the perimeter formula.
2L + 2W = P
Can we fill in one of the variables? The width is 4 1/3, as it says, so we can substitute:
2L + 2(4 1/3) = P

2L + 8 2/3 = P
We also know that the perimeter is 9 7/15, so:

2L + 8 2/3 = 9 7/15
We can now isolate the variable:

2L = 12/15

L = 6/15, or 2/5

Hope that helped.

P = 2w + 2l
9 7/15 = 2(4 1/3 + 2l)
9 7/15 = 8 2/3 + 2l
2l = 9 7/15 - 8 2/3 = 12/15 = 4/5m

Width = 13 / 3
length = L
Perimeter = 142 / 15
26/3 + 2L = 142/15
130 + 30 L = 142
30L = 12
L = 12 / 30
L = 2 / 5 m
Check
26 / 3 + 4 / 5
130 / 15 + 12 / 15
142 / 15
9 7/15 (as required)

let the length of the rectangle be l, then,
2(l+4 1/3)=9 7/15
2(l+4 1/3)=142/15
l+4 1/3=71/15
l=71/15-13/3
=71/15-65/15
=6/15
=2/5
