Like in the small one room houses they had. How could they have had 6 kids without the older ones know they are getting it on at night? Did the parents make their kids go to a friends and they had a wild night, or what? Please help.

Olden Days Sex

The same way you have sex now. In one bed with the kids asleep up in the loft. The children knew a lot more about sex than the church and the middle-class Victorians would like you to believe, especially on a farm or in any sort of prairie housing. Also in a one room flat or poor dwelling. You have only so much space and Mom and Dad are going to have relations, so will Aunt and Uncle if they're there as well. It's hard to keep hidden as is childbirth, the after effect of sex. Children also got a good look at farm animals getting randy. It was just one of those things that happened. One just didn't speak about it in polite conversation.

They had bundling boards in pilgrim times. They were boards that separated the bed cause they often had only one and the kids would sleep in the bed while their parents and older siblings had sex right next to them but it's not like they knew even married women didn't know what sex was then. If you're really that interested in ancient sex watch The history of sex on the history channel, it's really good!

Look up St. Augustine... He is the source for most, if not all the church restrictions on sex that are followed by both Catholics and Protestants... amobg a list of other things... the missionary position is but just one of many... In his youth, he was a womanizer, among others 'sins' and then got 'religion' in later life. That's when he created his sexual rules among others... IMHO

They did it quietly and in the same bed or room as their kids. It has only been in recent times sex was considered something to be done only in absolute secret. Sex was a normal ordinary act two people did.

Back in those days there was little privacy, so people might have had to do "it" when the kids were around. It's no big deal anyway. Sex is a normal part of life and there's never been any reason to shield children from seeing it. We carry on today like sex is something that should be hidden and done in secrecy, under the covers, lights out. I think this is just plain dumb reasoning.

You need help with this?
It's evident that where there was a will, there was a way.....ever try sneaking one over on company, in the backseat....?
Back then children were outside to play all day or working hard around the home to pitch in...no electronics. They were naturally exhausted come bedtime.
Watch what happens when you take kids out all day to the beach, in the fresh air...after meals, they're done

Let me tell ya 'bout the birds and the bees
And the flowers and the trees
And the moon up above
And a thing called "Love"
Let me tell ya 'bout the stars in the sky
And a girl and a guy
And the way they could kiss
On a night like this
When I look into your big brown eyes
It's so very plain to see
That it's time you learned about the facts of life
Starting from A to Z
Let me tell ya 'bout the birds and the bees
And the flowers and the trees
And the moon up above
And a thing called "Love" (Yeah!)
When I look into your big brown eyes
It's so very plain to see
That it's time you learned about the facts of life
Starting from A to Z
Let me tell ya 'bout the birds and the bees
And the flowers and the trees
And the moon up above
And a thing called "Love"
Let me tell ya 'bout the birds and the bees
And the flowers and the trees
And the birds and the bees
And the flowers and the trees
'Bout the birds
(fade)
And the bees

My parents had 6 kids we lived on a farm. No we didn't go to neighbors and I don't remember them ever getting wild. People were different back in those days. They would just shut there bedroom door and get busy without being loud. God I don't even want to think about it. Gross : )

from my understanding, historically people who only had 1 room and many children would have sex while there kids slept in the same room. i guess they would wait until the kids fell asleep and then go at it.

i know it foraging cultures, having sex while your kid is asleep is fairly common. i think it ends up as a form of sex ed for the kids?
