I have no idea if i'm a lesbian or transgendered. When i was younger i always wanted to be a boy, even pretending to shave my invisible beard with my dad's shaver. When i played with barbies i would always play ken, or if i like a girl in my class i'd pretend to be her boyfriend. but in the past year or so i keep thinking i might be a lesbian, because at times i really am comfortable with being a girl, but at other times i'll wrap duct tape around my chest at home to see how i would look. this is why i need some help. I don't know which one i am.

At times i really am comfortable in my own skin. When I do dress up, which is rare (parties only) I feel very feminine and am happy with it. But I would feel very uncomfortable dressing in girly clothes daily. But yes if there was a spell to make me male I would.

You do have some serious questions and you may need some psychological help to find the answers.
You need to understand that being transgender is about the gender you are and the sex your body is. Being a lesbian is about your sexual preference.

Do you see yourself as a boy, wishing you were a boy at all times. Do you feel uncomfortable with your body? Do you try to hide your body (ie wrapping your chest). These are all the types of questions that you need to learn about yourself to help you discover whether or not you identify as a boy.

You may not be one, but you may just be very tomboyish. And then again you might be.

As for being a lesbian: If you are attracted to girls and you are a girl (identify as one) then you would be a lesbian.

If you are attracted to girls and you are a boy (Identify as one), then you would be straight.

No matter which case it is for you, no matter what the answer is, I hope that you will be happy being the person you are and be proud of yourself for taking the trip to self discovery. And no matter what the outcome, you are OK.

The worst thing is: Nobody can answer that question but you.

Do you feel better with your chest taped? When you look in the mirror, does it seem "more right" to you?

Or are you trying to look like a boy so that you can be with a girl?

My best advice would be to see a therapist with experience in transgender issues - ASAP. There are three good reasons:

1) The therapist needs to have experience, because shrinks can be just as ignorant as other people. You do not want to go to a shrink that thinks transgender people can be "cured".

2) A therapist can help you find the answer. And until you do, you won't be at ease.

3) You seem young. If you really want to be a boy - the sooner the better. It will greatly help your chances of becoming "manly". I know some trans-men and most of them are quite hansom young men. Those who waited until their old age are less convinsing and regret waiting.

Good luck.

You sound to me like you're transgendered. If there were a spell that could make you male, would you choose to have it cast on you? Could you live with not just the privileges, but the restrictions that go with being male?

i think you might be both but if only one probably transgendered. its not a big thing to worry about but if you want to really know you should probably go see a counselor or someone you trust so it doesn't go round and heaps of people know, the counselor will probably help you and tell you which one usually with counselors the first 3 or 5 are three and you'll only need one or two so you won't have to pay. I would probably go to my mum and talk to her about it, she would probably know what to do and what is best.
