ok, so i just passed the the vault level with the rubees and now im in the haunted basement, trying to find merlee??? I found the lookalike and she turned into a spider.....now ive been running around like crazy, trying to find the real merlee...and im just stuck....where is she?? any hints?

You have to go back to the room where the imposter Merlee was. Don't worry - she won't be there. There should be a door in the room. Enter it. The rest is a huge maze to try and get around, but just keep going through doors, and eventually you'll go through one and find two other doors - one with a blue guy, and one with a red girl.
Go into the bathroom with the red girl on it. Open all of the stalls (although I believe Merlee's in the second to last one), and eventually you will find Merlee. Mimi will come back again as the imposter Merlee, and you will be sent into a sort of game show where you get to ask 5 questions to each Merlee. By the end, the first one should have flies buzzing around her. That is the real Merlee, as she has been in a toilet.
You will then have to fight Mimi in her spider form. She's quite easy - just avoid the Rubees she throws at you. Pick then up with Thoreau and throw then back at her. She should be stunned and this is your chance to stomp on her. When she creates a wave of rubees, use Slim to dodge them. Each, like 5 or 10 amounts of damage you deal, one of her legs will fall off. After you defeat her, Merlee will give you the pure heart, thus ending the chapter.

i have the strategy guide in front of me, I think i know where you are. There should be a hall, and in the hall there is a boys bathroom and a girls bathroom. She is in the girls bathroom in the fourth stall. Hope that helps.
