Interesting question for me, because I have experienced both types of pain. I noticed almost all of the other answers said emotional pain was worse, and I certainly can relate to deep emotional pain. Losing a loved one to death is devastating. My first taste of death came when my young (19 yrs. old) gorgeous, bright and always smiling nephew committed suicide. A few years later my older sister who I loved and adored died from a long time illness. Ironically, TWO DAYS after my sister died, my favorite Aunt & Uncle were killed in a car accident. I got a break from the pain for a few years and then it was my Father who died unexpectedly, but fortunately, to most, he at least had lived a long and full life. And finally four years after that, my older brother died as a result of a head trauma from a cycling accident. About one month after my brother died, some little twit who was in a hurry to get to nowhere, slammed into the back of our car while my husband and I were stopped at a red light. Well, I've been suffering severe shoulder and neck pain for the last two years and havn't had one single day that was pain-free. So sometimes the physical pain isn't as easily healed as some might think. Having experienced both, and finding out that the emotional pain at first may be more agonizing and traumatic, if you have faith in a Higher Power and lots of love and support from those who surround you, the pain does subside. I'm not saying you don't recall the pain at times, but you do realize that it is much better to move onward with your own life, learning to appreciate everything and everyone that much more, and in that sense, you seek out more joy and happiness and peace in your mind and soul. So, even though I've felt both kinds of pain, my honest answer would be the ongoing, chronic physical pain.

Emotional Pain. Why? Physical pain lasts for only a while until it heals but emotional pain hurts deep inside and sometimes has no remedy. Especially when you lose the one you love. You can try, you can pretend, but that pain will never go away. That's something no doctor can heal.
There has been many ways I have been hurt but that's a story not to be told on a website ;)

Emotional pain hurts the worse because you can get rid of a physical injury easily than an emotional injury.

a broken heart hurt way more. Cuz a physical pain can heal, but a heart break takes time...And often lead to phsyical pain as well

well example...mmm bad breakup i guess

i felt like **** for a couple of days, went into total isolation and listened to so many heartbreak song. Then i realise, "there is a whole ocean of fish out there, why should i feel sad about just one. I still got a long life..." So i started listening to happier songs and started talking to different people and moved on

Emotional. I think the most painful thing emotionally that I'm willing to share is this one time last year. One of my best friends, Newt, is a guy. I realized last year that I liked him as more than a friend. It was like, a Wednesday, and I decided that I would tell him Friday. The next day, when I went into school, my friend Lindsey was like, "Oh my gosh, Newt has a girlfriend!" and that was like, so unlikely, because even though he's totally cute, he hangs out with mostly my friends and I, which is mostly girls, so he's not extremely popular. He's just not lie the jocks and stuff. So then I saw his girlfriend, and she was this really pretty girl and everything, and it bothered me so much. Their relationship ended when she went to the movies with him and told him not to sit next to her when she saw some jock from school. lol But I decided we're better off just friends. The end. lol

Emotional pain is far worse than physical pain. The body heals, but the mind and heart do not.

A broken heart hurts way more, I have been recently heart broken when my boyfrined of a year and a half told me it was over. I almost gave up my job for him, he gave up a lot for me too, so I just figured we would be good, I didn't see the breakup coming, I was blindsided. It's been 3 months and I'm still suffering, even going to therapy....I have never been physically hurt so much, having my son was the worst pain ever (with contractions) but it was over right after I had him.

I've had a lot of both. It's a lot easier to cure a physical injury. Emotional pain seems to last forever :-(

Emotional pain is worse than anything else because it's not as easy to fix or medicate. I've hurt myself emotionally and been hurt by others some. I've also given birth so...yeah.
