Well, aside from watering....

It would be nice to know the area you're in... your local climate might have hit the first few fall frosts that have KILLED your grass for the season !!

IF you're in a warmer / temperate region, you have just have a build-up of dead grass. The lawn may need "Thatching" (raking out dead grass) and irrigation.

Good Luck, and remember... only 6 months until spring.

Depending on where you live, your grass may be going dormant at this time of year, so unless it's going to stay warm, forget about it. Scotts makes a drought fertilizer you can apply. If you water, water before 2 hours before sunrise or just after the sun sets. Water droplets act like a prism and can harm more than help if the sun is out.

you need to first check the salt content in your water. you can do this by looking at the tree bark if its white-ish theres alot of salt. buy some gypsum and apply accordingly to the size of your lawn. then go buy some 21-0-0 fertilizer very high in nitrogen. water it in, in the morning to prevent burning. wait one month , if that doesn't work go buy ironite( iron is only a cosmetic fix lasts about three months )iron is not a nutrient supply so lawn does need regular feedings. i would say fertilize at least every month and a half. do that and you will not have many problems. regular maintenance is required. water only in the morning to reduce and disease or fungi in the yard about 5:30 am @ 15 - 20 mins per station. you should be mowing grass pretty thick at least 3 - 4 inches tall. any more questions email me sooper_stooge2001@yahoo

depends on the type of grass. some grass like winter rye will dye off in the summer and come back in the fall. but most likely just water what you have and if it dont grow back then just reseed it
