It is in California. I was a guest in the audience and went with my 2 daughters. We sat a few seats down from Robin. It is really fun when you finally make it into the stage area. You do have to sit and wait a long time and sign a few papers. Dress is business casual. It is a wonderful experience. We did get on camera, and it was fun to watch the show we saw live (they are taped and played at a later date). You should bring someone with you to talk to as the wait is quite a few hours. If you are a fan, it's worth every minute. You also get to meet lots of new people. I won a coffee cup, just by being enthusiastic. Dr. Phil interacts with the audience at the end. Go to DrPhil.com. There's a place to ask to be an audience member and even get on the show. I'm pretty sure he tapes in Los Angeles, but I could be wrong

It's filmed in Los Angeles, probably Burbank to be exact. The Dr. Phil House is an actual house in Wilshire Park and it has received numerous complaints.
