Don't waste your time applying to the University of Florida. They treat their students like crap. It has the 4th largest student population on one campus in the U.S. therefore you are treated more like cattle than an asset to the university. That and UF is in the middle of some major budget cuts which of course means that they will cut services and resources to students first. The classes are overcrowded and will get worse. The first two years at UF I didn't have a class with less then 300 students in it. I have seen my financial aid cut and tuition and fees go up. I have seen a class of 300 students and only 2 to 3 TA's to help them. I have seen that more and more of the colleges at UF doing away with study areas and computer labs and requiring students to buy a laptop at their own expense and making the students pay for expensive software that is required for the class. More and more of the costs are pushed onto the student. While the UF administration gives themselves raises and bonuses and takes expensive retreats to private resorts to hold meetings.

Since you don't say where you are now -- telling me that you will go all the way to Florida is worthless information. If you are in DC, that leaves the East Coast. If you are in Oregon, it includes the lower 48.

Princeton Review has a tool where you enter information about your background and interests and it tells you what shcools are good for you. The link is below.
