Does doing so offer evidence of how much they value your support? Or are the two unrelated?

eyesinth (below) Putting two people out of 42 million in high positions does not have anything to do with the snubbed debate.

rukiddin (below) Yea. Like being 75% more likely to be arrested for the same offense as others AND being 75% more likely to go to jail for the same offense others do not. That is all their fault... Jena 6 speaks volumes as to the even handed prosecution of the law

I think it was stupid. They may have given up on courting minority voters but they should take every opportunity presented to them to discuss their ideas on issues that affect minorities with various minority groups.......

Martin Luther King said once and one hears those words all the time," I had a dream where all men were judge by their carrotier an not by the color of their skin." Yet with some of the people their race is the best and their problems are because of another race. Instead of looking to ones own self for their problems they chose to blame others. As for those G.O.P. candidates whom did not show up for that minority debate big damn deal. So they had a scheduling problem. It not that they said they would be there and not show up. Like the Democrats did with the debate at Fox. It was schedule and then backed after it had been set up.

There were several boosted by the debate, there were several who took a blow by cowering out of coming to the debate. Ron Paul, as usual, showed why the GOP would be stupid not to nominate him for president. Huckabee and Keyes also showed that they could make great nominations for president, particularly Keyes with the conservatives.
Ron Paul is the best thing going for the Republicans, hands down. If they nominate Guliani for putting his face on 9/11, they deserve to lose.

Bad politics but, good business.
Dollar for dollar there just aren't enough votes to be had by the GOP at minority events.
If the minority groups want attention from both parties, they should do more to get members to vote.
All minorities combined exceed the white population but, only represent 9% of total voters, and 96% of them vote democrat consistently regardless of the issues,so why bother?

Why would a black support a liberal? If you take a minute and back up and look at the democrats plan which with Hillary newest little piece of candy, it is cradle to grave care by Uncle Sam. No one in this country has had that kind of care since 1865 with about 500,000 men died in a war over Slavery. All issues should be equal too. What is it about equality that you don't care for?

I would feel better about the GOP not making it then John Edwards saying this yesterday
“We cannot build enough prisons to solve this problem. And the idea that we can keep incarcerating and keep incarcerating — pretty soon we’re not going to have a young African-American male population in America. They’re all going to be in prison or dead. One of the two.”
It really makes me sick that the party who is supposed to fight for minority rights, think that African Americans can only become criminals.
Why do your Democratic leaders not know that there are more African American males in college than in prison?

unrelated.
there should not be 'minority' debates or 'gay' debates.
what is next, male debates, female debates, blond debates, midget debates, amputee debates, ?!?!?!?!?!??!?
lets have real debates, where the candidates can have significant time to really answer questions and followups.
lets ask the tough questions and not accept platitudes and doublespeak.
lets forget about race and sexuality and focus on the things that make this a great country...working together.
and lets get the runaway train called the federal gov't slowed down, shrunken and out of our way!

Guess they figured Edwards won over the minority vote with his socially correct estimate of black people.
Seriously, how is the myth of 'Democrats care about minorities' perpetuated at this date? Herein lies the true outrage

They couldn't address the minority issues debate unless they told the truth about how they see what the minority issues are or at least come close to it. Although I don't see many Blacks voting Republican many of those who would might withdraw their support if they pointed out that most of the minority issues that Blacks have are caused themselves.

I actually don't mind all the different debates. It's showing us what these candidates, from both sides, are made of. But come on, afraid of your fellow Americans ! Someone please show some backbone and put yourself out there. It did wonders for Ron Paul.

It's no surprise at all. Go to the US south there are uber religious blacks like Sherri Shepherd who doesn't even know if the earth is flat or not because its not expressly mentioned in the bible. And since the GOP is the party of morality and god, they vote for cons cuz Rev Jones said so.
