The "secret to happiness" is to have a sensible, intelligent, rational understanding of what it actually is. Part of it you could say goes back to that old adage "Change what you can, deal with what you cannot change, and have the sense to know the difference" Do not hanker after things that you pretty much know that you will never have. Understand that there are obvious limits to the things you wish for in this life, and set them aside. Then take a look at what IS within your reasonable grasp and concentrate on maximizing that, and truly appreciating it, as you measure it up against the infinitely worse situation that a great many people in this world have to suffer.
Don't pine for what you cannot have, or cannot be. But develop a true appreciation of what you do have, and realise just how much of it you take for granted every single day, because it is always there. I am reminded of that saying...."I cried because I had no shoes, and then I met a man who had no feet"
The truly happy person is the "contented" person. He's not happy because he's spending big, living high and fancy, or partying all the time. He's happy because he has learned true contentment, and has found his own small niche in the world. A single slice of bread is an incredible thing to a person who has not eaten for a week. We who have never been without bread, don't mind throwing it away. Perhaps we need to take a fresh look at ALL the things we have for which we should be truly grateful, and be glad that they are there. There would be a lot more happy people around if they all did that.

It is a nature's way of our body system to have our mind rest through sleeping. Sleep makes our mind rest to rejuvinate again after its rest. So i beleive it is a prerequisite to a secret to happiness. But this is not an assurance for minds have to really rest. The secret to happiness depends on the individual.
Have a good day.

Sometimes yes it is. Depends on what kind of person you are. It could be a loved one that makes you happy or something that you do. If you just lost someone or are stressed out I would suggest take a break from life and relax. Pretend that you are the only one in the universe and no one else. Take a bubble bath, run, or do what ever it is that you do. If that doesn't help think of the one thing that makes you happy and go do it. No matter how busy your schedule is, just go live life and have fun. If that still doesn't help then I would go see a phycologist.

No, the secret of happiness is finding the niche that is right for me, and knowing I am the very best there. Success, achievement, contentment.

Yup. Consider this, from the Tao Te Ching:
"Fame or integrity: which is more important?
Money or happiness: which is more valuable?
Success of failure: which is more destructive?
If you look to others for fulfillment,
you will never truly be fulfilled.
If your happiness depends on money,
you will never be happy with yourself.
Be content with what you have;
rejoice in the way things are.
When you realize there is nothing lacking,
the whole world belongs to you."

I think there is no secret to happiness. People look too hard for it. It's common sense. Do what you love, Surround yourself with the people you love, maintianing healthy relationships...etc. I can say that, but I can't conquer that statement. So I really have no room to talk, I can't find happiness myself. What's there to do when you don't know what you love anymore? or you don't know who you love anymore?

If you mean the mind at rest is to be at "peace" with itself and the world around it, then by all means, "Yes", but the road to a peaceful mind is personal satisfaction...being content and accepting ones-self...this is the true inner beauty......
