Hold one of each (longway) between finger and thumb and squeeze....lol....which pops first. Also, research has shown certain colours to be stronger than others, do you know which one?

Smarties are denser than M&Ms and would therefore be less apt to "pop". Dunno bout all that strongest color crap, though. I think you're BSin on that one, friend.

Oh, I get it now after reading all your answers. In the U.S. the candy called Smarties is a hard, tart candy that is porous (kind of like Sweet Tarts, if you know what those are). I could break an M&M long before breaking a Smartie. I see though that other countries have candy I haven't heard of (HOW DARE THERE BE CANDY I HAVE NOT EATEN).

smarties would crack first. and i think the purple ones are strongest.
*edit: this depends on whether you are canadian or american. in canada smarties are the superior m & m, but in the US they are a weird candy thing kind of like rockets. you can't buy the chocolate smarties in the US.

smarties! plus they get stuck in your teeth and they make my jaw hurt. m&m's are all soft and squishy inside, especialy when you put them in a bowl of hot popcorn.
