Can you get a Reccomendation outside of school ..if you are doing volunteer work at a hospital or something????? Will the University except out of school Reccomendations or??? Thanks for your help!!

You absolutely can, and should, use outside sources such as community service references. I wouldn't suggest using personal or family references, though.

I don't know what university you're speaking of, but in the US, universities love to hear that you do volunteer work, and the coordinator over the volunteers would make a very good recommendation.

Do you teach Sunday School? That's another good person. Anyone you have worked for--the grocery store, the guy whose lawn you mow, your pastor or a long-time family friend (at least 40 yrs old).

I will give you a little bit of advice. Use your spell check. Every time.

You will have to read the specific instructions of the University to which you are applying.

Different universities have different admissions policies.
