My girl friend got "the shot" exacly a week ago can we start being intamte with no problem or we should wait a little longer?

You should wait two weeks.
That's what my doctor said when I got my first depo shot.
FYI, please have her research the shot before she gets the next one. There are too many women that have serious health risks.

depends when she had it? if she had it when it was due from her old one then yes she is covered. If she had the shot on the first day of her monthly then yes 7days wait is all you need to wait.
However if she had the shot half way threw her monthly then no she is not covered by it as she may have already realized an egg.
You will need to wait until after her next monthly to be covered by the depo
