Hmmm... I like it, I use it all the time. Didn't realize people might find it irritating. I think it is endearing and less formal than my husband. For instance, if I am saying that he will come pick something up it seems too formal to say "I will have my husband pick it up" it seems more friendly to say "The hubby will pick it up this afternoon". But we all have our opinions. I have words that I can't stand that people say a lot too, so I understand what you mean.

I do not "hate" the word but it causes me to think that the female who used that word must surely have been born as a natural blond.

It is really annoying. Imagine what kind of annoying pet names they probably have for each other.

hubby is like a nickname for husband! i careless if people use it or not! That's their own way in expressing themselves w/ their " HUBBY"

I happen to like the word. It actually was made up to go with *wifey*. Those are just safe words when you are close to being married, but not there quite yet...

Sorry, I'm guilty of using that one. I'll try not to do it any more. Is "old man" better? In my husband's case it's definitely accurate.
