It depends on your age, if you are under 18 it is normal due to your age, if not you may have a hormonal didorder or just having a different period; it is normal that period changes as we get older.
If you think it is very differnt and serious and you might have had sex, you might had a miscarriage due to so long term of bleeding.
Consult your doctor.

No, 8 days of bleeding is not normal and should be checked out by a doctor to see if an infection could be causing this.

Some cramping during a period is normal but when it becomes severe enough to make it hard to function that needs to be evaluated by a doctor to see what they think could be causing it.

has it always been this way, or is it something new? If it's realatively new, see your doc. I had long periods and horrible cramps as well as HEAVY bleeding and ended up having a softball size fibroid. It wasn't life threatening or anything, but they did remove and once it was gone my periods shortened and became lighter and the cramping was much better.

that is completely normal. i get mine for eleven days, but, thankfully, no cramps. my doctor said its totally normal for me. everyones different. but dont be affraid. if you want shorter periods, talk to your doctor about birth control.

Yeah, you should be fine. Mine lasted for more than a week for the longest time.
