Judging purely on the circuit, of the circuits used this year, I'd get rid of:
Monaco - hasn't been a "real" race since the 80s
Indy - pointless, pointless, pointless
Magny-Cours - boredom in the middle of nowhere
Silverstone - how to ruin a great track by being too clever
Hungaroring - it's been hated for over 20 years...
and replace them with (assuming the money could be found to bring the circuits up to F1 standards...):
A-1 Ring (or whatever they call Österreichring these days)
Road Atlanta
Dijon
Brands Hatch
Brno
However, I wouldn't want to get rid of the Monaco GP in the real world. It's too important for the sport.
For those who want to get rid of Monza: HANDS OFF! It is even more important than Monaco for the history and soul of F1. The races there are usually a fair reflection of the season - if it's been a competitive year (as in: every race being contested by more than one team, not the one race for McLaren, one race for Ferari that we've had this year), the race is good. If, like this year, one team has tended to dominate an individual race, then the race is a procession. At least there is overtaking further down the field and there are retirements to make it more interesting.

I think explaining WHY a track should be cancelled could be a good idea. The current Italian and Chinese tracks are among the best for the show, like a couple of other new ones, Barhain and Turkey: there you *can* pass other cars, while in Montecarlo the chance to change the ranking is just during pit-stops or because of accidents. Montecarlo have a great history, but doesn't fit anymore modern racing.
I think ALL track inside a city should be banned, for both a better show and even more for safety reasons.

Hungary then Indy (which is gone!)
Uncle Bernie doesn't care about fans anyways, its clearly about who is willing to pay him!
I don't think the problem is really the tracks! The rules in F1 make overtaking on the track nearly impossible between semi-equal cars. The real race has become qualifying and pit strategy!
The cars are amazingly technical and fans appreciate that but it would be fabulous to see some passing for position on the track!
It's the only thing NAZI-car has going for except for their propoganda machine!

I like the Shanghai. I don't see what's wrong with it, but it's down to personal preference I suppose.
By European do you mean Nürburgring? Because that will be replaced by Hockenheim next year and will return in 2009. So you'll have a year without it.
I also like Magny Cours but they are looking to get rid of it and replace it with another French GP. Possibly Disney Land.
I'm not that big a fan of Monza but I don't mind it.
They've got rid of Indianapolis and it doesn't look like it will return anytime soon. But it looks like they might choose a different US location.

I dont understand why Shanghai is listed, it is a pretty decent track.
Despite all traditional values, I wouldnt mind missing the Monacco GP. Its a procession, 90 mimutes of sheer boredom.

The american gp. I hope it never gets picked up again. Americans don't appreciate F1 like the rest of us do.

If I had to pick one race that could be taken out of the calendar it would be the Monaco grand prix. There is little chance of overtaking making it a little unfair to every driver except the leading one.
