From what I've seen there isn't much time for the marriage aspect once a child arrives. So why is having children more important to these women than their husband/soul mate?

Because children will always love you, husbands don't. Children are your memory of the love you shared together. We are animals and the world must be peopled. If we left it up to the husband their would be a shortage of people.

i believe married couples should wait atleast a year before they have kids due to this exact point- they hardly have time for eachother once the kid is born. But its not a matter of the child is more important than their spouse, its just female nature to want that symbol of their love with that person. So everytime and care they shoe for their cild is ultimately an expression to their mte as the child is paart of both of you. Thats how i see it. And of course societal norms and pressures. Isnt the first thing people tell married couples - when are yall gonna have kids? Its said from the weing day speeches so definitly society has a lot to do with this.

I wondered this for a long time. From what I can tell it comes from 3 separate sources, upbringing, religion, and biology.

Upbringing is because if this is what a woman grew up with, this is what they are going to see as 'normal' and do it, because they don't know better.

Several religions tell women that they must have children to 'go forth and populate the earth'. They are instructed that they are nothing without children, and that this is what they should want. Men are also raised to see that they are in essence sperm donors and a paycheck to support the children, so many of them do as they're told.

Biology. Women are programed both physically, mentally, and emotionally to want children. Their body's tell them that it's time to have kids, because really we all are animals. We have the need to have kids, when our biological clocks say it's time, whether or not it's logical.

Just what I've observed.

Social conditioning. From a very early age in life, young women are taught that this is their biological and social purpose. I know women who were persuaded against getting an education and to just get married and make babies.

Religion is notorious for this approach -- keeping a legion of women having children and often when delaying childbirth is in the best interest of all.

It's primarily due to influences from family, religion, and society. Of course, not ALL women are like that. I hate children, and I don't want to get married either. I am disgusted whenever someone starts off with, "When you get married..." or "When you have children..."

the see marriage as more of a foundation and stability factor rather then just the concept of 2 people together forever, and since thats what marriage translates into the next logical progression is that their children would be in a stable enviornment hence they should have some.

simply put? females of any species natural instinct is to procreate. so in a society that shuns those who have illegitimate children, marriage is the best course to follow their natural instinct.
