Tell your kid he can have all the ice cream he wants when he finishes his homework. He finishes it so he eats all the ice cream he wants. Negative consequence is a stomach ache later.

Immediate = happening right now
Reinforcement = encouraging something, sometimes through reward
delayed = happens later
negative = bad
consequences = the result of actions

Now, put all that together to figure out what the sentence as a whole means.

its like you asking your parents to take you to town for a motorbike that you have saved &saved for ,asking them at the brekfast table and they say "look i don't know love" lets discuss it tonight when weve more time im late for work!....then that evening you bring the subject up and they didnt hear your question for concentrating on getting ready to go to work....you then redefine your question "that motorbike"you know the one in town !well ive saved enough to buy it will you take me? YOU WHAT....."you must be bloody joking"
