I think you should be free to grow it, smoke it, sell it...like you would with tomatoes or sweet corn. Little farmer's stands with signs that say, "FRESH INDIANA POT"

Willy Hello,
Yes the government should sell it after all they want to make a profit YES - Cigarettes have killed millions and no one turns a blind eye as long as they are getting the Revenue carry on -
Drugs pot or whatever do the government care - no they don't more money for them..
I have smoked marijuana and to be honest it made me fall asleep and I have tried it a few times since and it had the same effect (snoring) so I cant see the attraction to it but you should have the right to do what you want to do.. You could be a drunk which is far worse actually - marijuana makes you peaceful drink makes lots of people nasty.

No, its never hurt or killed anyone and never has caused addiction. It becomes a gateway drug only because its illegal. People who try pot gain the impression the government lied to them and will think its the same with other drugs (which it is not) and ruin their life with hard drugs. Its criminalization is increasing poverty and unemployment because of drug tests as for the unfortunate people that test positive due to second hand smoke. It is waisting government resources causing us to pay higher taxes as the government are preoccupied with harmless marijuana while coke and heroin are lurking the streets killing people. Its increasing our prison population causing even greater unnecessary civil expenses and provides profit for illicit gangs instead of legitimate business. If you had the choice of getting candy from the store or from a stranger in the ally, Which would you choose? The candy store of course. So if pot was legalized legitimate business's selling marijuana would displace the criminal market of it then all the money made from taxes in pot will be used to get rid of coke. Pot should be legalized other drugs must stay off the streets. Alcohol is more liable to causing violent crimes and despite many myths THC does not kill brain cells. In fact scientists have found it to be a neuroprotectant meaning it slows down and even prevents the loss of brain cells over age and from use of neurotoxins (Such as Alchohol).

I personally think it should be legalized for medical reasons especially for terminally ill people. I guess if it became legal the government would probably find a way to make money on it probably through taxes. I think they should spend their time solving more murder/child abuse/kidnapping/rape etc cases instead of chasing down pot smokers. Also FYI I have never smoked pot and have no intention of doing so, this is just the way I feel. Interesting Question!

Legalize it, I suppose.. Either way, the people who are going to smoke it, are going to smoke in the end. The American government is wasting their time trying to stop people from using it--it doesn't matter. They should be working more on things like murderers, pedophiles, rapists, etc--instead of prostitutes and pot-smokers. Marijuana isn't really hurting anyone, anyways. Plus it's not addicating or a gateways drug. Not saying I smoke it, I just think it's not as big a deal as people make it out to be. This debate will go on forever, mate. But most likely it'll stay illegial.

There's sooooo much controversy about it. Personally, I think your idea sounds like a good one.
Pot is made to sound worse than it is, and the main reason it isn't legal alredy is because of big business and politics, not because of what it does to a person (be that good or bad).
I can't stand all the stuff about it being a "gateway drug", while you never hear that kind of thing about cigarettes or alcohol, and those are more of "gateway drugs" than pot ever has been.
I'm not really sure how I feel about legalizing it, or how it should be done, but like I said I think your idea sounds okay and I don't think legalizing it would be a bad thing.

i completely agree with you. Marijuana really isnt such a bad thing as the government makes it out to be. Yes, the country could make millions of dollars a year on this, and i actually think a few states are contemplating just this idea. but oh well, we may never see it truly legalized and regulated in this country. :(

I dont know......it makes dealers a heck of a lot of money but the risk is high
Personally, I like weed to an extent so the very least they could do is make it so that the punishment isnt so harsh........
like a parking ticket, if you get caught with it
regular weed for $10 a gram? Youre getting ripped off........

I have to agree with ya on that one. When my brother was sick with cancer and they prescribed him marijuana in California he had to get rid of it because it wasn't legal here in Nevada. Total bull crap I know but yeah I agree with you. They could make so much money if they would just tax it and sell it like they do cigarettes

It's a product of nature anyway so why not legalize it. It works great on pain also. Seriously it's the only thing I've found that relieves my foot pain.
