Good Luck!

I don't think you should give up anything that makes you happy.I think your family are just concerned for you social development. There afraid that if you stick with this it would be harder for you to make and keep friends as you get older your friends will find more than animation to keep them busy and that's where there concerned are rooted. But if it makes you happy go with it.

I still watch it and I'm 40.
You may have to explain to them that animation isn't the same now as it was when they were kids... mind you, the animation of the days of yore-- they had a lot of adult humor in it.
It's your choice and it's not hurting anyone. And a lot of the stuff now teaches lessons of life, friendship, honor, etc.

I'm 24, and still catch myself watching cartoons sometimes. Nothing wrong with that. As long as you feel you are a balanced young man, and can tell that you are maturing, and able to take responsibility for yourself, and other things, you are doing just fine.

As cliche as it sounds, 'follow your dreams'.
I know people who are in their forties and love animation. It's not a bad thing to like animation, so if it's animation that you like, I don't think you should give it up.
Wow... that was repetitive... sorry.
