America invented nuclear weapons. Countries stole U.S.'s nuclear plans and then passed the plans to other countries.

I also knew people that worked on the Manhattan project. They fully supported America's right to possess nuclear weapons.

To Thomas B: The U.S. developed nuclear weapons. Also, England had the jet engine at the same time Germany did.

The Right Is Wrong: Iran has two nuclear programs. One deals with nuclear reactors (Russia helps) and the other deals with bomb making (China helps).

No, not "allowed".
But even if they did get one, and of course test it, it's not a big deal. It's political.
If Iran actually manged to get one, hell, lets say 20, they then have to deal with a method of delivery. Their region, they could do. Israel for instance. USA, nope. They could try to smuggle, but do they want to risk 1 getting caught? Or even after the fact, analaysis of the blast? Iran want to deal with 10,000 nukes? lol.. no...
Oh, they also have to deal with the minor problem of having 300++ (from israel) to 20,000 (if usa and others get involved) nukes coming back at them.
Getting one isn't about using, unless you can continue to build them and obtain an arsenal complete with method of delivery while being under sanctions, restrictions and maybe even threat of conventional attack or at least limited bombing.
Those who have, also wouldn't use. They have other resources at hand, superior airforce, ground force, artillery, conventional weapons.
One way or another, in a war, the first object is to get the command, military, and/or the system dead. Nukes are poorly handled for that situation -- especially against another nuclear power, but even against a non-one in this day and age.
WW2 and Japan, winning would have happened regardless of nuclear weapons, and that's when no one in the world had them.

Every Nation has a right to develop anything it pleases, I am not a Democrat but do believe in the fairness of all things considered.
Hitler's scientists were the first to work on the Nuclear Bombs and Missile, and Jet Engine Technologies, Germany fell before he could use any of the inventions of his slave scientist, US and then USSR divided up equally all the scientists they got from Germany, who intern now developed weapons and their delivery systems for USSR and USA.
I am normally a supporter of your questions posed to democrats but this one is an unfair question.
Every free sovereign nation has right to its defense, we may not like it we may prevent them but we can not say it is illegal.

Yes. If we have them then they have good reason to be armed. They don't want to be the next Iraq.
BTW, Iran is aiming for nuclear power not weapons. They've been very clear about that.

Nuclear weapons should be banned from all countries, those that possess them "illegally" and those that possess them "legally".
My friend's father worked on the Manhattan project, and on his deathbead, he described what he saw as the work of evil; I can truly understand why he felt this way.

no, no country should be allowed. the u.s. is being hypocritical by allowing israel to have them, but not any islamic countries.
secondly, iran does not have nuclear weapons. i don't know where people are getting these things. please check the IAEA report on iran, which dismisses u.s. claims that iran is developing nuclear warheads as "outrageous and dishonest"

If it's okay for Pakistan and Israel it's okay for Iran. Nuclear weapons are a deterrent, and that's why Cheney wants to invade Iran soon......before they have a chance to build any.

NO.
They have plainly stated over and over they were going to wipe Israel off the map. Iraq had missiles pointed at Israel when we went in to Iraq. The Aussies went in under cover of night and dismantled them all. .....
You are asking about nuclear weapons...not nuke power.
