Why are they taking away our rights as citizens to win the War on Terror? Are we (the American public) that afraid that we are willing to give up these rights?

some americans are that afraid, but certainly not most. the real culprit is apathy. most people just don't care about this kind of stuff. they are too busy watching survivor or some stupid sitcom to care about keeping up with politics. that's how the politicians get away with thieving our rights. and on top of that, of the people who do pay attention, some of them actually like it when we lose our rights. that makes me mad, while the other just makes me sad.
