Basically, all of the pure-blooded wizarding families are related as Sirius mentions in Book V. In Harry's case, he shares a common relative with Vodlemort in that Harry is descended from the younger of the three Peverell brothers, Voldemort probably from the second oldest. My reason for this is that Voldemort's family has the resurrection stone which was given to the second brother by Death according to legend. The oldest brother had the Elder Wand, the second brother the resurrection stone, and the third brother the invisibility cloak.

The family tree as presented is approximately correct although obviously most of the ancestors are missing. The only question I would have is whether Salazar Slytherin came before or after the Peverell's. The family tree shows his descendents and the Peverell's descendents marrying however this is not made clear in anything I have read to date. Slytherin may also have been a descendant of the Peverell's as well. In any case, Voldmort and Harry are distant cousins many times removed from each other.

Both appear to be descended from the Peverell brothers, but they are very distantly related. Harry is descended from the youngest of the three brothers, Ignatious Peverell who was the original owner of Harry's invisibility cloak. Voldemort, and his anscestor Saliszar Slytherin, is descended from the middle broth who had been the of the resurrection stone.

No, just because they are very distantly related this does not mean Harry is an heir to Slytherin. Voldemort and Slytherin are on a different branch of the Peverell family tree from Harry.

Technically they would be related in some far off blood-line. Because suppose Voldemort's ancestors (Slytherin & the Gaunt's) were from 1 of the Peverell brothers. Then, Harry and his ancestors are from Ignotus. That would make them (Harry and Voldemort) cousins, but way down the line. Ignotus would be Voldemort's Great-great-(insert however many more "greats" you would need)- Uncle

I wouldnt really say that they are related because it goes down a long road. Harry is a decendant of the Peverell brothers who were related to Salazar Slytherin. Voldemort was the last living relative of Salazar so u can say that they are realted but no one knows the real line.

Harry is a descendent of the Peverell Family (who invented the 3 hollows (invisibility cloack, stone that brings people back to life, and the elder wand))

The peverell family related to salazar.

so u wud hardly consider harry and voldemort relatives. because being releted by anscestors being related isnt much.

Distantly related through the Peverells, but as has been made clear, all the wizarding families are related at some point.

not really. salazar is somehow realted to the Peverell brothers, and Harry related to the (peverells) but the Peverells are not realted to the Gaunts nor the Riddles. They are realted to Slytherin.

not really...but all pure blood families are related to one another in one way or another....they could be but that would go way back.
