First, relax. Been there, done that. I had no money at 16, either, we lived on Social Security. Yes, you do need to focus on school. That is the best distraction from your worries possible. You are still growing and it will probably be surprising how much your body will continue to change even into your late teens. It's working, just give it time to do what it needs to do. If you eat with moderation and get enough exercise, it will do the rest as quickly as possible. As far as clothes, find a good consignment shop or second-hand store. They're everywhere. Many times, people will wear clothes once (if at all) and decide they want more. I've found clothing that still had original price tags from the store where they were purchased. Get busy at doing something. Find a good hobby of some kind that will help you gain confidence in something you truly enjoy. Be it writing, painting, music, sculpture, photography, journaling or anything else. The choices are endless. Music is very therapeutic as well as writing. Don't be so demanding of yourself. If your feelings of self-loathing continue, you may need to see a therapist to help you see what's causing it all. Good luck. I hope this helps:-)

Why do you buy into the media myth that to be beautiful you have to be slender and at the top of your game every single moment of every single day?
Hormonal changes in your body around the time of your period make you crave salty foods, you eat them, the salt makes you retain water so you gain weight and feel bloated and "gross". That's the phisiological why of it. Whether or not you intend to grow up and get over the crud the media shoves down your throat is up to you.

Your body stores extra water and nutrients in case you have a pregnancy. you are also likely to eat more because of your bodies hormonal signals. Rest drink lots of water and exersize will make you feel better...at least it works for me I like ibuprofen too but I will not reccomend it to someone I dont know.
