Wow, so the car can last that long huh?:) I bought a 2000 Galant in March of this year and at just seven years old, it had 115000 miles already. since then i have managed to add just about another 15000 (I'm 3000 miles shy of 130000). As soon as i got the chance i had a tune up done (spark plugs and wires, oil change and filters for both the oil and intake). When ever i ask anyone i know with the same car, they're response is always the same. I'm told to give the car regular scheduled tun-ups and look out for some parts that may go wrong in no time.

Some parts to keep a keen eye on are the water pump, the engine mounts (I'm told these wear quite easily) as you may know, when reaching around 80mph the engine vibrates a lot and you can feel it quite much. have the belts inspected. If your drive belt goes, you're stuck. Change fluids on a regular scheduled maintenance and you might just be able to add another 100000 miles to the car:)

If you're a do-it-yourself type, you may want to invest in a Haynes Repair manual for your car. I did this when i bought mine and since then i have been doing any work on the car myself, or with little help. You should be able to order one of these manuals from your local auto store like Napa or Auto Zone.

Take it in to have it checked for any damaged parts. Also check to make sure if you kept up with your regular maintenance. I would replace your spark plugs, and wires. Flush your radiator, change your oil, flush your transmission if you changed the fluid every 40k mile. If you have not changed the transmission fluid yet don't bother. You will mess up your transmission if you change the fluid when you never changed the fluid before or on time.

If you've got it to go that far, you are pushing the envelope. Sorry, but that's just my opinion.
