I just ran a bath, both taps full on. Went off to make a coffee. When i returned to the bathroom, the door jammed, I couldnt get in to turn off the taps! I then developed headless chicken syndrome, rushing around trying to find a way to open the door, knowing that the bath would soon be flowing onto the floor, seeping down to the flat below, where the old lady lives, who is always complaining about the noise! My son ran down the road to get my son in law, who after a lot of banging around, got into the bathroom just in the nick of time! So, now ive calmed down, I am thinking, was I unlucky cos the bathroom door stuck, or was I lucky cos the bath didnt overflow? I think I was lucky, what do you think?

I don't really believe in luck so I always pick 13 for my lucky number. And 7 for my unlucky number. Only because everyone else does it the other way around.

As you hadn't planed for it happening, and disaster didn't happen after all, I'd class it as lucky close call.

Sound's like you've got a good overflow in your bath tub, which bought you extra time.

If overflows were made big enough, and kept clean, they'd stop all baths from overflowing. Its a practical way to prevent misfortune/improve your luck.

I look at it as being fortunate. All in all, nothing bad happened in the end, unless the "old lady" downstairs is upset with more noise, but if she complains, tell her next time she can have have a free shower!

Definitely lucky, had the water seeped down to the flat below and even your insurance (if you have any) would probably have paid. It would have meant bigger insurance payments when you renew it.
