for another one with a higher payment. He would have had it payed off in a little over a year. We aren't poor but far from rich I just keep getting medical bills in the mail yet he goes and gets something for his own self not for us or our baby.

Aha, that's a dead giveaway. He's afraid he will never again get to buy himself a truck, or maybe even anything else, once the baby comes. So, he's thinking, I'd better get it now.

Your expecting a baby and he goes out and get rid of his truck and gets higher payment, your not rich but manage , I think it is being stupid becausse you are having a baby cost money to have feed cloth , let him know how you feel .

Because babies are a life changing event that doesn't end after just 18 years, it's forever. He's probably scared to death and knows the majority of his paycheck for the rest of his life will not be allotted to anything major for himself. He views the baby as your big present and he deserves a little something, even if he's thrilled about the baby, too. He thought, "For the rest of my life, my life will be devoted to family, period." Let him have this one thing that's his, alone. Think of it like his bachelor party before you got married.

The two of you need to talk, if he did this with his truck, wait till the baby comes along, both need to be on the same page if not your in trouble!!

kinda depends on what kind of truck he traded for what kind of truck. For example if he traded in a regular cab pick up for an extended cab or crew cab then it benefits you and baby. More room easier access, etc...

If he wants a more expensive car and can afford the payments and you will benefit from this investment and the use of the car, it isn't selfish.
