How much would it cost me to get an El Camino painted--it's already been sanded... (not primed though)

I live in the midwest, btw.

Check with vocational technical schools or collages in your area most schools are looking for people to allow their students to paint their cars usually you will only have to pay for materials the labor is free, also most schools have an experienced painter to over see the painting of your car I have never seen a bad paint job come out of our local vo-tech,but understand they are students and it could happen also they may require that they keep your car for several weeks they are not fast but you can get a good job at a low price if you are will to give them the time they will need.

to get a good paint job and any body work that needs done to the body you can figure $5,000 to $7,000 for a class job that you will be proud of, please don't take it to maaco or Earl Scheib or you will be very unhappy after about a year and if someone tells you they will paint it for $2,000 run away as fast as you can, been there done that and experience is the best teacher.

Good quality job runs about 2-3000.00 not including body damage or rust repair. Maaco or Scheib paint jobs are junk unless you do all your own prep work and can remove any runs or drips yourself but they are real cheap...single stage paint --not basecoat/clear coat like most modern cars are from the factory....will fade quicker.
