Can you explain to me what's so bad about gay people...?

Here's the catch: Without using the words: Wrong, sick, or God.

Just because you think something is "sick", doesn't mean it should be stopped. Rape and porn are sick. Rape harms someone. Porn doesn't. Rape is against the law. Porn isn't.

And God? Just because it's written in a book and part of a religion, doesn't make it a good reason.

So, without those key words or any synonyms, what's wrong with gay people?



For the record, I'm straight. That's pretty irrelevant, though.

I was waiting to see an anti-gay answer: I was curious to see how they would explain without using wrong, sick, or God. It's nice to know that the Yahoo Answers community is pro-gay though. :)

Manda: I never said gay people were great. I'm trying to say that they're not "bad" like you say. If there's no reason they're bad, and no reason they're good, well, aren't they like everyone else? Which is exactly what we're trying to say.

But there is a reason you have. It makes you want to throw up just thinking about it.

That's what I would like to know.

Some of the reasons I've gotten were...
"They take it up the butt!" So? Straight people have anal sex, too.

"They're going against the preachings of God and the Bible!" Number 1: The Bible was written by man and how is loving someone going against the teachings of God? Doesn't he want everyone to love eachother? Doesn't Jesus love everyone? I'm sorry, but I don't remember singing "Jesus loves the little children, except for the gay ones" when I was growing up.

"It's just wrong!" Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about because you can't even back up your statement!'

I'm straight and I view Homosexuals just like a view Heterosexuals; Human. The world would be a better place if we would all just get over this sexuality issue.

One of the best ways to bring a group of people together, for whatever reason, is to find a common enemy. Gay people are a good target and fundies make a ton of money off people hating gays.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. If anyone does, then they have a problem which I won't bother about. I am not gay myself, but I respect all nationalities, races and yeah, i even respect gay people, and I'm not ashamed of it.

It's a matter of opinion on both sides of the coin....I could ask you "Can you explain to me what's so great about gay people?"
but for my answer....."It makes me want to throw up just thinking about it".....and that is why I think it's so bad. :)

I've heard time and time again from Christians that "We are all sinners, and can only find salvation through Jesus Christ".

So why does it matter if you're gay and breaking "God's word" if we're all sinners regardless?
