-The useful idiot is any person who acts in a way which unwittingly promotes political interests which are opposed to his own political ideals.-

Is researching the voting records and history and possibly facing the ugly realities of “your” candidate the antithesis of being a Useful Idiot?

Will you please join me in not being a useful Idiot?

I have been called many names because I am black and I don't support Democrats 99% of the time.

But I know that I vote for the candidates that best represent my views and ideals, and because of that, people can call me whatever they want but they can't call me a 'useful idiot'.

I would like to provide another answer to this question, however, this ol' man has some confusion in the gray matter, caused by an insufficient amount of intelligence.
I think I might have a small grasp on the useful Idiot, as in a liberal who will work rather than go hungry.
My confusion is manifested by attempting to define a "Useless Idiot".
COULD a / the useless Idiot be the same as ANY POLITICIAN/S WHO REFERS TO THEMSELVES AS PROFESSIONAL??? A politician who, regardless of party, accepts LOBBYISTS Political Contributions, for any "special project", and the politician , when caught squandering YOUR and MY money, will make the statement " I DID THIS FOR THE GOOD OF 'ALL'", " I HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG"!!!
Does your question also include the politicians dog that, in private, is called "ALL"

I do see the GOP of the past 10-15 years "NeoCon" as useful idiots. They will go down in history as Cult-like.

I will vote Democrat right now because we need real change and this right/left dogfight is a lot of bunk, really.

Basically in politics they're all idiots,Ha!

Middle and working class Americans who vote Republican fit the bill. The party promotes the economic interests of the rich,(huge tax breaks for the wealthy , corporate handouts) and interference in the private lives of citizens.(abortion, wiretapping) The Democrats I support appeal to intelligent voters.

Those who blindly vote for one party or the other.
Those who always vote democrat or those who vote republican.

Since I voted both way and considered who I was voting for I don't make the useful idiot list.

Hey, you look familiar. ;)

Well, I probably won't be voting for either a Republican or a Democrat in the next presidential election. As an independant, I won't get to vote for Ron Paul in the primary...and since he won't win...

Oh, well. At least I won't be part of the problem (unlike I am at the moment...my bad).
