One of the Dr Seuss books I didn't get to...

I DO like the idea of creating a tall (8-12 foot) copy of the book on your float... the cover can be done with 1/8th inch plywood or hardboard... then the pages can be done by creating a slight "wave" and bending hardboard (or cardboard) to fit.

Cover any seams with brown-paper soaked in diluted Elmers Glue and smooth them in. This will be undetectable from more than 4 feet away.

Scan the cover & selected pages into a computer, or take a slide-photo, and project it onto the surface for painting. You could ALSO take the drawings on the pages and cut THEM out of cardboard... painting them and moving them 6-8 inches OFF the page to give you a 3-D effect.

PICK a certain line / quote from the book, modify it slightly to fit your CLASS, and print buttons / stickers for your class.

Costumes are outside MY range of expertise, sorry.

DO CONTACT your theater / acting / stage geeks !! We designed our Sophmore, Junior, and Senior floats and won each year.

GOOD LUCK

I don't really remember that book. BUT for sure have some different stuffed animals all over your float. Have someone dress up as the main character (whoever that may be)
Make a couple large pages of the book to display on the float with quotes from the book on them. Use paint to make it pop out. ...fake trees....???/idk. hope that helps a little
