Now that the US dollar can only buy about 70% of what it used to, is this good or bad?

The dollar buys about 70% of what it did in 1992 - inflation of about 42% over that time period. Over a period of 15 years, that's really not bad, about 2.4% inflation, on average. Beats the heck out of the 145% inflation for the 15 years through 1979 (a Dec 1979 dollar buying 40% of what a Jan 1965 dollar could).

Good we will have to start making thing here that means more jobs in Manufacturing and since we our the leading consumers of the world less demand on emerging markets thus a global slow down and increase in employement in the good ole US of A.

it's a good and bad. I assume you know why it's bad since you are liberal and you usually tend to focus on the negatives all the time. The upside to it is that it makes our exports more affordable to the other countries around the world. Exporting more goods is a good thing in case you didn't know.
