Is salem to scary for the halloween time?

hey i was just wondering, during the month of october is salem, massachusetts to scary for the month. When your walking around do people try to scare you or is that only on tours and stuff? thank you

usually during Halloween in Salem all kinds of weirdos are walking around. They Witch dungeon and the witch museum have scary stuff too, where people jump out at you. There is so much to do in Salem, but it's kind of over played. No one really bothers you when you are walking down the street, at least I have never had anyone bother me or try to scare me, whenever I was there.

Never actually been to Salem closer it to Halloween, though I did go earlier in the month. .To be perfectly honest, I didn't really notice much in the way of dolks trying to scare anyone. Actually seemed pretty normal to me.

Now my sister, on the other hand, has been to Salem much closer to Halloween doing a ghost tour.From what I got from her, no one trying to scare folks, though things might have gotten a little creepy at times since it was at night and they were checking out places that were supposed to be haunted. She's got a few photos from the trip, some with some rather intresting occurances.
