We could fund some semblance of health care with all the money they raise.
Someone set the record straight.
Why do they need so much money? and
what do they do with it?
what happens to the money they do not spend?

We have local yokels, who spend 1 million in ads and flyer's. That whole marketing thing is spinning out of control. And you know, they are going to have to pay back their backers in deeds, once they are on power, like bush the military industry and big oil.

They pay for huge campaign organizations and expensive TV advertising for their candidacies.

the culprits are the voters who are swayed by inane 30 second ads that pander to the lowest common denominator.

Read newspapers, watch c-span and read and watch other reputable sources of information on where the candidates stand on the issues that matter most. then cast an informed vote based on your best judgement of which candidate has the most to offer for you particular issues.

If we all do that, the campaigns will be able to run on far less money and we can reduce the influence of special interest groups that buy votes through madison avenue advertising methods.

They spend the money on advertisements, trips to all the cities etc. These things are expensive over a two year span. The money they don't spend, usually goes to charity or it remains with them for future campaigns.

TV ads are expensive. And for healthcare (which by the way is the best in the world), the money raised for campaigns wouldn't even be significant in how much socialized medicine would cost.

The money the don't spend I believe is given to their party.

most of the money is used for TV advertising which is quite expensive.....100s of thousands of dollars for a 30 second ad.... and those ads need to be in all 50 states. there is also expenses for their local campaign offices...... volunteers can only do so much. there are travel costs, along with day to day living....... and remember...... this is done in all 50 states....... it can get quite expensive

They need something to brag about. I would like to know what they do with the money. If they were running a campaing, they should pay out of pocket.

to pay for:

slanderous reports on their competition
run tv ads
hire PI's to dig up dirt on their competition
research what each demographic wants to hear so they can tell them what they want to hear to get votes instead of having one solid true campaign
buy votes
