because the main arteries to a bats heart and brain are restricted to curb the blood flow also another fact is that bats separate the bones in there ears when it echo locates because if it didn't as soon as it made the noise it would deafen itself.after it makes the noise it reconnects so that it can hear the echo

Wow, some ill-thought responses here.

Part of it could be an evolutionary adaptation but not much is needed - simply put a bat isn't going to have as much blood pressure because compared to a human being - its tiny.

If you imagine the litres of blood in your body pushing down on your skull, the very idea is probably enough to give you a headache, but imagine the blood inside a little bat's body. Its not the same - conversely if you had bats as big as people they would have problems with it and would have to solve the problem somehow. Its just a question of scaling.

Actually NASA does experiments with bats to learn about the effects of gravity on circulation. Bats have evolved to have less blood flow to their upper bodies and some scientists think that this allows them to hang upside down without so much pressure.

And someone had a really good point about their heart rate being at rest while they hang.

I assume that, like other animals, it has valves in its veins to prevent blood from flowing backward in response to gravity. For instance, humans have valves which prevent blood from flowing backward in the veins down to the feet.

It hangs upside down when sleeping, therefore its heartrate is slowed right down so pressure won't build up in the head the same way as a person.
