For cheap insurance stay away from 2 and 3 door cars and get a 4 or 5 door (anything which looks at all sporty tends to attract higher insurance premiums, probably high enough to make the extra cost of two more doors look cheap).

If you're buying new then something small from Korea will do, a Hyundai Getz or Accent, Kia Rio or Daewoo Kalos (though they aren't sold under the Daewoo name outside of Asia) are cheap to buy and run and if you maintain them will give you good reliability (true of any good car).

With a used car you'd be looking towards something that size although if you buy used you buy based on condition and maintenance without any real regard for model (provided that a model you're looking at doesn't have a history of shoddy construction).

hi, to be elementary i might say the Yaris and Mini are females automobiles. Corsas are terrible automobiles, they lack character and are bland. The Clio, on the different hand, is astounding. not in basic terms like the Yaris and Corsa you will get them with leather-based seats and clever contraptions which incorporate computerized headlights and wipers. The Clio additionally seems the main suitable. It seems mature and nicely balanced while the Yaris is ungainly and the Corsa bland. The Clio is a good looking vehicle tocontinual, cruising alongside the toll highway one minute and diving for the time of the bends on a B-highway the subsequent. There are a lot available too, so looking your suited one would be incredibly undemanding. There are a solid sort of engines accessible too, the a million.2 which would be low priced to insure and the a million.5 diesel which does extra advantageous than fifty 5 MPG. they're basically 2 of them. I very own a Renault Mégane which has been incredibly good and that i definitely like it. incredibly delicate. My next vehicle will certainly be yet another Renault. So usual i might say: a million. Renault Clio 2. Mini 3. Toyota Yaris 4. Vauxhall Corsa solid success passing your attempt.

It depends which country you are in as some cars are not sold in certain countries

If you are prepared to put the "girl's car" tag aside, I would always go for the Nissan March (Micra) as I had not one single problems with it since I owned it for over 3 years. Plus that girls car tag does help the fact why it is that inexpensive. The disadvantage is that parts are not the least expensive of all similar cars.

If that "girl's car" tag still bother you, just tell them you drive a "Nissan March" which is the JDM name - they might think you drive a Superturbo :)

You could always try an "old" Mini, for the fact plenty of cheap parts, a thriving social scene and so on

Assuming you're in UK;
Ford Ka or Fiesta, Fiat Punto, Renault Clio, Peugeot 206 would all be good for first car. There's not really much to choose between them, so pick whatever you think is the nicest looking!

I had a citroen saxo 1.5 diesel, and it always worked well, you could look for a small engined corsa. its had to say when you don't give a budget and wether you want new or not.
