The best natural thing to do is to limit the amount of sodium in your diet. Stay away from foods naturally high in sodium and do not add salt to ANYTHING. I would also advise you talk to your doctor. If the metoprolol alone is not controlling your blood pressure you probably need to be on a different drug or a combination of drugs. There are many other drugs that you can use in addition to metoprolol. I am always leery of taking herbal supplements to control blood pressure as they are unreliable and often times inconsistent. Call your doctor fairly soon as high blood pressure can carry serious consequences.

Natural blood pressure lowering agent is garlic as what DOH recommends, its effect is optimised if taken raw. Other BP lowering agents could be stress reduction and healthy lifestyle, low fat, high- fiber diet, regular exercise and cessation of smoking -(nicotice is a very potent vasoconstrictor)

Besides reducing your salt intake and plenty of exercise there is garlic, fish oil, hawthorn, coleus, cayenne pepper, Indian gooseberry, coenzyme Q10, ginger, gingko, apple cider vinegar and many others that you can find in a web search for "high blood pressure" + "natural remedies".

Hmm. Natural? How about arsenic? You eat some arsenic, you die, and your blood pressure drops significantly.

You don't want natural products, you want products which have been improved and then perfected by science.

Ask your doctor to prescribe you something!
