Are they good about doing their job and being a part of responsible decision making?

Most times no, they don't read it they skim through it. They only have so much time and then usually the people who try to slide something in as pork try to puch for a vote. That is how we end up spending extra tens of thousands of dollars and more for stupid things.

Will an abysmal approval rating I would say no. The dem lead Congress is doing an awful job. Hillary openly admitted she didn't read the intelligence report before she voted to authorize the war in Iraq. But idiot libs still stand by their witch. I mean woman....

No, they don't read the legislation, they read the checks that the get all the way to the bank!

Most don't. Only 9% of them read the Patriot Act from start to finish before it was passed!

No they do not. They are either told which way to vote by their party or staff.

No. They have staffers who read them in detail and present them with summaries and opinions.
