I was in grade school when a friend came in and saw me scrubbing the bathroom tile grout on my hands and knees with a toothbrush!!! I used to cry & yell at my mother that the only reason she had me was to clean the house.
My mom was a bit over the top, but I'm glad she taught me the importance of keeping things neat & tidy.

Oh, yes, milk the cows, milk the goats, slop the hogs, chop wood, carry it in and the ashes out, plant gardens, weed, fertilyze, chop weeds in the fields, put up hay, stack the corn in shocks, husk corn, carry water from the well or spring (depending upon the place we lived), all that good stuff.
Kids today don't know what they are missing!

yes my sister and i both had our own jobs to do tho i hated it as a teenager im glad now as i know how to be clean and tidy being taught at an early age

no, i dont have chores and i dont get money, so it kinda works out for both of us. they do buy me things every once in awhile though
