I just got a violation notice for my response to sageseeker's question about the difference between violations and thumbs down.
I still don't understand why or how?

I have recieved so many violations in the 1 1/2+ years on this site, it is funny. Hide all questions and answers, that way you cannot become a target of a troll.
DO NOT EVER use another member's name in a question, that alone is in violation...and please, don't stoop to the level some here have. I have been personally attacked in some people's answers for what???? I have no idea, nor do I give a rats......
WE seem to have a fight going on here ... I have no idea why, with whom, or anything..all I know is that it speaks very poorly for some seniors who are entering this fray. There is NO way of knowing who does reporting here, anything you guess is just that, a guess! Yahoo doesn't care what you say, it is all computer generated, no one with real eyes even looks at stuff here.
I have seen the best members from other areas banned...one with over 67,000 points, 1000's of best answers, and banned because a troll decided to make him a target.. He did not come back, but many of the best on this site left in protest and have not come back.
Reporting a violation is much more serious than one would think...it is the nastiest, most cowardly thing you can do on this site. IN this area, I have never seen anything that I remotely consider reportable...I may disagree with a few things, but Report !!!! I don't think so. So what if it isn't a question...big deal. So what if it isn't and answer ! Big deal. Why some (a few) choose to make this little section some kind of big battle ground is beyond me. I see no reason to besmearch anyone here...it is totally uncalled for.
IT would also seem that some people here think there is some kind of plot going on....if there is, I am not part of it..I have better things to do with my life...and I would have hoped they had also. Sad to see such a nice area of an otherwise wrecked ship go down the tubes because of a few disgruntled people.

Several of us have received violation notices for no reason. I protested mine and got the typical response from Yahoo that they were checking on it. I can't get any more help. They just refer me to Yahoo Answers. I think that is funny. I don't care about the points either, but there are a few on this site that do care. They don't want anyone to get ahead of them. You can hide your Q&A but if you have contacts, remember that your contacts also have contacts and can see your questions anyway. Just wanted to let you know.
It is up to you but by removing all contacts, you are also removing all your friends and I chose to leave mine intact against the advice of someone who is probably the same one who gave you advice.
Best wishes. I don't know what is happening on this site any more. It is different than it was when I first got on here.
Edit: Please be aware that there are some on this site who use several different names. They may ask a question and then log on with another name and then get best answer. Crazy but very clever of them.

Min: I just went back to my question and your answer has been removed! SEE? This is what I meant...I just do not understand what is going on...I read each and every answer and saw not ONE iota of a scent of anything that should require that! This kind of nonsensical, mean spirited stuff will end up making me want to be scarce 'round these parts.
Frankly, if anyone should be able to report someone it should be the asker!
Now watch...I'll be violated next for what I just typed....so be it

Yes, sadly I guess you have, after getting my 'letter' the other night, I dread opening my e-mail now. I had no idea when I signed up to ask/answer questions, that all this was going on. It's impossible to 'reason' with a computer and the people who actually did nothing wrong are paying the price. I hope it gets better for all of us.

That is uncalled for, sending a nasty email. If anyone did this to me I would actually put their name on the site.
What is with these people, block them from now on, and don't stoop down to their level and email back.

But I certainly would put their name up. This is not necessary. This is a site for sharing, caring and having a laugh, learning and being open, to everyone opinions.

So sorry when I get a violation I get madder than ________??? and I have told them anyone that reports you we should know their name,... as you have to give your name when you call the cops{I put up with music 24/7 } and They ask my name so how and why should not the spooks {a cia term} on here{ called trolls} have guts to give their name.

It is OK< I contested, but they just sent me a copy of the rules, so I sent the rules back to them and asked them where the voilation was.....that was 4 days ago, haven't heard from them yet

I am sorry for the problems you are having Min. I always enjoy your answers...especially when you start talking about your experiences with animals.
I have been having a very busy day with my three grandsons, whose school had a PA day today. (I am SOOOO tired!)
