The power connector for An IDE CD-ROM is a Molex here is a connector pinout guide

It depends on the type of CD-ROM drive. If it is a normal IDE drive (most are), it uses a Molex connector. Here is a picture of a Molex connector from a power supply:

The power connection comes from the powersupply where u put your kettle wire(the black wire which goes right at the top)
It jins from that to your cd rom.

molex and it only fits one way so there is no way to connect it wrong:)
